Our insurance regulations require that "members only" be allowed into quarries and on club sponsored field trips.

Most of our field trips are good for kids and the young at heart.
Check with the field trip leader ahead of time to see if kids are welcome.
Some places we go could be considered too dangerous for young children to attend.
The Capital District Mineral Club goes on weekend field trips from May to October of each year.
In conjunction with other mineral clubs in the northeastern United States, some members of our club dig for minerals in ten states and Canada between March and November of each year.
Field Trip gear must include: (1) hard hat (or bicycle helmet for young kids under supervision); (2) work boots/hiking boots preferably with steel at the tip to prevent toe injury from falling rocks (and covering past the ancle to prevent strains while walking on boulders); (3) work gloves; and (4) safety glasses.
